Dream Castle Hotel Encounters the Headless Princess and the Old Lady in the Wall

Located by Lake Louise in Canada, the Fairmont Hotel is beloved by travelers worldwide for its stunning views and castle-like architecture. Every year, numerous visitors flock to this dreamy castle, and even though the rates are much higher than those of ordinary hotels, rooms are in high demand during the peak tourist season. However, staying at this hotel may require some mental preparation, as the Fairmont, like many other ancient European and American hotels with over a century of history, often has stories you might not necessarily want to hear.

One

The Fairmont Hotel by Lake Louise was built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. At the time, the hotel hosted only upscale VIPs. One night, the hotel was filled with guests attending a wedding banquet. As the bride, dressed in a gorgeous white gown, made her entrance, her skirt accidentally brushed against a nearby candle. Seeing her dress catch fire, the panicked bride stumbled and fell down the stairs, breaking her neck and dying on the spot. After that, eerie rumors began to circulate about the hotel. Some said that if you walked through the hotel late at night, you might see the bride, who had broken her neck, wandering around in her white gown, frantically searching for her groom.

This story also took place at the Fairmont Hotel. One day, an elderly couple checked into a room at the hotel. But a few days later, when they checked out, only the elderly man was seen—his wife from the same stay was nowhere to be found. Strangely, guests who stayed in that room afterward often complained about hearing voices talking inside, yet no source could be found. There were also occasional strange noises that left the hotel staff baffled. Five years later, during a major renovation, workers actually unearthed a female corpse inside the wall of the room where the elderly couple had stayed. The woman was none other than the elderly man’s wife. No one knows the reason, but at least everyone finally understood where the mysterious voices in the room were coming from.
