A local resident of Kobe wanted to share with me his favorite steak restaurant, so he took me into an old building at noon. There is no particularly eye-catching sign or fancy decoration. This is the birthplace of Kobe steak restaurant.

As the ancestor steak restaurant in Kobe, the Teppanyaki steak "MISONO" naturally has a place in history. It was founded in 1945. The founder Shigeji Fujioka first started operating an Okonomiyaki restaurant with iron plates obtained at a shipyard. The Tajima beef steak is loved by many people, and the Teppanyaki master is very skilled in operating the iron plates, so he has attracted attention. According to locals, this is also the origin of the term "Teppanyaki".
The Teppanyaki Steak MISONO Kobe main store located on the 7th and 8th floors underwent renovation and reconstruction in 2002. I took the elevator up, and the store layout of an old-school Western restaurant appeared in front of me. Sitting in front of the wraparound seats on the high floor, I could see the city view of Kobe in front of me, which felt a bit luxurious.
