The cherry blossoms haven't bloomed yet — the four major traffic control measures for the "2015 Wuling Cherry Blossom Season" are revealed early

With two months to go before the peak of the cherry blossom season, the Directorate General of Highways took the lead on the 30th to announce the phased traffic management measures for the Wuling Farm cherry blossom season, reminding those who wish to admire the blossoms to prepare in advance.

Wuling Farm, known for its distinct seasonal scenery, is a famous tourist destination across Taiwan. The 2015 Wuling Cherry Blossom Season is expected to kick off on February 13th and is anticipated to attract another large influx of visitors. Therefore, the Directorate General of Highways announced a two-phase traffic control plan in advance on the 30th, stating that it will implement the same four major initiatives as this year: "on-site crowd control, road traffic regulation, group tour reservations, and public transport shuttles." Daily visitor entry will be capped at 6,000 people.

The Directorate General of Highways pointed out that during the cherry blossom season, crowd control will be enforced within the farm, limiting daily entries to 6,000 people, including 1,800 overnight guests and 4,200 day-trippers. Except for day-trippers using the public transport shuttle service, all overnight guests and pre-booked group visitors must hold a pass to enter Wuling Farm. Day-trippers using public transport can purchase tickets via the ticketing channels provided by Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport and Fengyuan Bus to gain entry.

For group tours, during the cherry blossom season, Wuling Farm will allow 20 large coaches and 10 medium-sized coaches to enter per day, but they must first register on thereservation platformstarting from 00:00 on January 13, 2015.

This year, the Directorate General of Highways has also planned six dedicated cherry blossom viewing bus routes, as follows:

1. Taipei Railway Station — Wuling Farm
2. Taipei City Hall Bus Station — Wuling Farm
3. Yilan Bus Station — Wuling Farm
4. Datong Township Office — Wuling Farm
5. Sanxing Township Changpi Lake — Wuling Farm
6. Lishan — Wuling Farm

To align with the park entry control plan, visitors will have a 4-hour window to explore the park. This year’s cherry blossom shuttle buses operate on a “same bus there, same bus back” basis. Passengers boarding the shuttle will be informed of the return time and boarding location for their specific bus. Tickets for the cherry blossom shuttle buses go on presale starting January 29th. The only exception is the “Lishan — Wuling Farm” route, where tickets and entry passes will be sold at the Lishan Visitor Center from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM the evening before departure, with a limit of six tickets per person.
