Selling Spare Ribs Rice on Flights to Welcome the New Year – Tigerair: Fly to Tokyo in 2015, Then Open Korea Routes

Taiwan’s Tigerair, which already operates flights to Singapore, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Macau, plans to add a Taoyuan–Tokyo route in March 2015, followed by routes to either Jeju or Busan in South Korea and either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. In 2015, the airline will also update its in-flight menu and launch a new Tigerair Taiwan mascot, the “Little Cute Tiger.”

Tigerair Taiwan’s head of public relations, Tang Pei-hua, stated that the airline currently has two passenger aircraft and plans to expand to six in 2015 to meet the growing demand from additional destinations.

Additionally, Tigerair Taiwan will introduce new in-flight meal options in 2015, including nostalgic spare ribs rice, chicken rice, and spaghetti bolognese. The airline also plans to start selling its “Little Cute Tiger” mascot and specially designed blankets for passengers to purchase in late January.
