Titled “iSee Taiwan,” the Foundation for Seeing Taiwan Invites the Public to Pray for the New Year

Starting with sponsoring the 2015 New Year’s Eve fireworks, the Foundation for Seeing Taiwan designated 2015 as the “Year of Cherishing Taiwan” and launched a series of events centered around the theme of “Cherishing Taiwan.” On New Year’s Eve, the public is invited to visit the foundation’s event stage area while waiting for the Taipei 101 fireworks, where they can personally pray for and cheer on Taiwan, uniting everyone’s beliefs and strength.

This year, the Foundation for Seeing Taiwan sponsored the 2015 New Year’s Eve fireworks, with the theme “Cherish Taiwan.” Yang Yuanyuan, executive director of the Foundation for Seeing Taiwan, said: “The vision of the Foundation for Seeing Taiwan is to become an important window through which the world gets to know Taiwan. To make international travelers fall in love with Taiwan, we ourselves must first cherish this land.” Therefore, the foundation has designated 2015 as the “Year of Cherishing Taiwan.”

The first wave of activities was launched online with “Everyone Gather Together to Cherish Taiwan,” calling on groups of two or more to document one thing that contributes to Taiwan’s beauty, with the chance for their work to be seen by the world. Before the end of March 2015, all participants have the opportunity to win a pair of round-trip tickets to Singapore (winners are required to do at least one thing to promote Taiwan’s beauty in Singapore, and provide the organizers with photos, text, or videos upon returning to Taiwan). In addition, on New Year’s Eve, while the public looks forward to the “iSee Taiwan Cherish Taiwan” New Year’s fireworks show, the Foundation for Seeing Taiwan will host the “Gather Together to Cheer” and “Gather Together to Pray and Make a Wish” activities from 8 PM to 11 PM. Those who personally cheer for Taiwan on-site will have the chance to win Krispy Kreme doughnuts or elegant small gifts. Writing down your blessings for Taiwan in 2015 also gives you the chance to win a five-star hotel accommodation voucher.
