Tigerair Taiwan secures Vietnam routes; flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to launch as early as March

Following Thailand and Macau, low-cost carrier "Tigerair Taiwan" is adding Vietnam to its route map. It is reported that the new Taiwan-Vietnam air services agreement has been largely finalized, with Tigerair Taiwan securing 16 weekly flights between Taiwan and Ho Chi Minh City as well as Hanoi. The first flights could take off as early as the end of March.

Under the new Taiwan-Vietnam air services agreement, Tigerair Taiwan has been allocated four weekly flights between Kaohsiung and Ho Chi Minh City, five weekly flights between Taoyuan and Hanoi, and seven weekly flights between Kaohsiung and Hanoi.
Other carriers also receiving additional flight allocations include:
Taoyuan - Ho Chi Minh City
China Airlines will increase from 14 to 17 weekly flights, EVA Air from 14 to 16 weekly flights, and Uni Air will add five weekly flights to Ho Chi Minh City.
Kaohsiung - Ho Chi Minh City
Mandarin Airlines will increase from four to seven weekly flights.
Taoyuan - Hanoi
China Airlines will increase from seven to 13 weekly flights, EVA Air from six to seven weekly flights, and Mandarin Airlines will add seven weekly flights to Hanoi.
Kaohsiung - Hanoi
Mandarin Airlines will operate five weekly flights.
The Civil Aeronautics Administration stated that the Taiwan-Vietnam air services agreement was revised last October, resulting in an additional 49 weekly flights to both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
