"Free City Bus Tour of Tamsui with Freshwater Highlights" Kicks Off — Discover 50 Minutes of Tamsui’s Famous Sites

Tamsui, a place that blends local culture, historical landmarks, and natural scenery, was once selected by the central government as a "Potential World Heritage Site in Taiwan." To help travelers make the most of their limited time and learn about the history and hidden stories of Tamsui’s streets, the local Tamsui Cultural Foundation has launched the "Free Tamsui City Bus Tour" starting today. The tour takes visitors through 17 attractions across the Tamsui area, offering guided insights that allow out-of-town guests to discover the stories unique to Tamsui.

The Tamsui City Bus Tour was piloted from June to November last year and received positive feedback. The number of guided tours increased from once a month to twice, then three times a month. After the trial period, the service officially launches every weekend holiday starting today. The Tamsui Cultural Foundation stated that it hopes the bus tour will help every first-time visitor to Tamsui get to know the area.

The "Free Tamsui City Bus Tour" offers one departure per hour starting at 9:30 AM, with each tour lasting 50 minutes. Advance reservations are required. The itinerary begins at the Tamsui Cultural Park – Shell Warehouse and passes through 17 attractions including Tamkang University, the Little White House, Tamkang High School, Oxford College of Aletheia University, Fort San Domingo, Fisherman’s Wharf, and the George Leslie Mackay Statue, before returning to the cultural park.

The Tamsui Cultural Foundation also reminds visitors that passengers will not exit the bus at each attraction during the tour. If you spot a site you’d like to explore further, you may disembark and catch the next bus to continue your journey. However, the next bus may be full, requiring you to wait up to an hour or use public transportation to visit other sites.
