18 stunning photography works – Have you seen the East Rift Valley like this?

The beauty of eastern Taiwan always captivates travelers from both home and abroad. Stretching across Hualien and Taitung, the East Rift Valley lies between the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range. Formed by tectonic plate compression, it boasts ever-changing, magnificent scenery including canyons, waterfalls, winding streams, and alluvial fans. In 2014, the East Rift Valley National Scenic Area Administration held the “2013–14 Most Beautiful Photography Works Competition of the East Rift Valley,” and selected winners from three categories—“Most Beautiful Paddy Field Landscape,” “Most Beautiful Flower Sea Landscape,” and “Most Beautiful Mountain and Earth Landscape.” Through these photographic works, a previously unseen beauty of the valley was delightfully revealed.
