A balloon dinosaur is chasing me! An adventure kingdom made of 300,000 balloons officially opens

As winter vacation approaches, the National Taiwan Science Education Center today (January 15) has launched a balloon-themed children's amusement park—Balloon Man Adventure. Balloon artists from across Asia and a Guinness World Record-holding balloon master have gathered in Taipei to create a balloon-themed amusement park using over 300,000 balloons. Children and adults alike step into the exhibition hall and transform into balloon characters for a fantastical adventure.

Led by Chen Yi-wei, the holder of the Guinness World Record for the largest balloon artwork, Balloon Man Adventure features nine balloon-themed zones created with 300,000 balloons. It is the balloon exhibition that has used the most balloons in Taiwanese history. The exhibition space includes a balloon version of a children’s amusement park, transforming familiar rides such as the Ferris wheel, miniature train, carousel, and pirate ship into balloon versions, filled with childlike imagination.

The nine balloon-created themed areas span over 550 ping and include a Rainbow Tunnel where you can meet stars from various eras, an Ocean Tunnel gathering stars of the underwater world, a Time Forest where you’re chased by giant dinosaurs, a Fun House filled with balloon furniture, a Sky City floating in mid-air, a Light and Shadow Planet that glows in the dark, a play area where balloon rain falls, along with a space full of balloons, and a Balloon School where you can create your own balloon artworks. Each area features huge and uniquely designed balloon installations, allowing children to immerse themselves in a whimsical world surrounded by balloons.

Organizers stated that in addition to balloon master Chen Yi-wei, who is a pride of Taiwan’s balloon community, there are also artists from Asian countries such as Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong, and mainland China. They will perform spontaneous magic on balloons at the event, hoping that through this exhibition, balloons will not only symbolize joy and celebration but also become synonymous with creativity embodying art, science, and deeper meaning.

Opening Hours: Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and winter vacation: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM; weekdays outside winter vacation: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; closed on Lunar New Year’s Eve (February 18)
Ticket Prices: General admission NT$280, discounted ticket NT$250 (for university students and below with valid ID), special ticket NT$140 (for seniors aged 65+ with valid ID and one accompanying caregiver for people with disabilities). Free entry: children aged 3 and under or toddlers under 90 cm tall (must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket; relevant ID required), and people with disabilities with valid ID.
