Most people think of soy sauce as black, but businesses in Tottori Prefecture, Japan, have now launched 'pink soy sauce'—and it tastes just like traditional soy sauce too!

The brand 'La Dame' launched by local Tottori businesses, which previously introduced pink curry, has come up with a new creative product this year. With an exterior that showcases a beloved pink hue favored by many women, it’s hard to imagine that this is actually edible soy sauce!

The company explained that the secret to making the soy sauce pink lies in adding red beetroot during the production process. Beetroot helps prevent anemia and improves constipation, and the beets used are locally grown in Tottori. The taste remains no different from that of regular black soy sauce, so consumers can enjoy it with peace of mind. This special soy sauce will go on sale in late January and is expected to become a unique souvenir.
