The title is a bit exaggerated XDD I wish I could buy a designer bag for two coins too~~~((screaming. But this bag isn’t that kind of bag—today we’re not introducing high-fashion designer bags, but rather actual edible buns!!

On Minsheng Road, there’s a bun specialty shop with a very fun name: "Designer Handmade Buns." This handmade bun shop offers a variety of flavors, but the most unique and interesting one is definitely their Stinky Chicken Bun!!!!((Just the name is hilarious XD). All products in the store are made fresh daily and sold on the spot, with a transparent production process. The shop is also very clean, and the owners’ dedication easily puts customers’ food safety concerns to rest—you can eat with peace of mind.

Skilled masters with years of experience expertly make each item. The owner said this master has ten years of bun-making experience. Watching him work even faster than a machine is like enjoying a fascinating performance.

From making and fermenting the dough to stamping marks, every step requires careful precision, backed by years of expertise. The owner said fermentation needs to be just right—too much or too little will affect the texture of the buns and mantou. Professionalism means no mistakes in the small details. See the egg yolk in the top left corner?!! The egg yolk buns really have solid chunks of yolk inside~

Remember how we mentioned earlier that the most interesting item is the Stinky Chicken Bun?!((Didn’t scroll back up to check? This is what’s inside the Stinky Chicken Bun—see how the master scooped a big dollop of filling onto the dough!! How it tastes will be covered later by Up~

Once fermented, they go into the steamer basket~

While waiting for the buns to steam, let’s take a look around the shop. On the counter outside, there’s a big medal, and the walls and glass are covered with reports from newspapers, magazines, and media—it seems this "designer bag" is quite the big deal to be so beloved. We’re getting more and more excited!!

Finally!!!!!!!!!!! The fragrant buns are out of the oven!!!!!!!! Watching the white steam rise and drift makes you even more eager to take a bite and taste it.

The buns from Designer Handmade Buns are all stamped, so you don’t have to take a bite to know the flavor.((So thoughtful!)
The price list on-site shows the corresponding numbers for each flavor. Can’t remember them? No worries—Designer Handmade Buns thoughtfully printed the flavors and their corresponding numbers on the back of their business cards. They also include a cooking card for steaming the buns properly at home. So thoughtful~~><

Scallion Roll
Let’s start with the lighter-flavored Scallion Roll. Its size is about the same as my palm, and eating one actually gives you a decent sense of fullness... There aren’t many scallions, but you can still taste their aroma as you chew.
Bamboo Shoot Bun
Unwrap the bun and you’re greeted by the fragrance of bamboo shoots. The combination of bamboo shoots and meat filling gives the inside a slightly fluffy texture, making it easy to chew.
Even though it’s only 25 dollars per bun, the crispy bamboo shoots haven’t been skimped on—the portion is very generous, and it’s super satisfying.

Designer Bag
Since it’s called a Designer Bag, it’s probably a must-buy, right XDD? Actually, the Designer Bag is just the common meat bun we often eat—but aside from the different name, it also tastes different!! The filling is made from freshly butchered local pork, seasoned and marinated, which is why you get such sweet and juicy meat and broth. Aside from the rich and hearty filling, you have to be careful when taking a bite because the bursting juice can scald your mouth!!!

Brown Sugar Sesame Bun
This is a flavor Boge really loves and recommends. The crust has the aroma of brown sugar, while the filling is unsweetened black sesame. As you chew slowly, you can taste the perfect blend of the two. Highly recommended.

Egg Yolk Bun
Boge reeeaaally looooves egg yolk!! Back when Boge’s family made zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival, I would always make my own special zongzi with extra ingredients—including five egg yolks XDDDD Yep, five!! Because I love them so much haha!! So of course I had to try the egg yolk bun here!! Sweet meat filling wraps the egg yolk, and the hearty texture, plus the added juiciness, prevents the yolk from being dry or hard. The combination is just right.

Fresh Milk Steamed Bun
Made purely with fresh milk, these steamed buns have a rich milky aroma and a firm, Q弹 (chewy and elastic) texture.

Stinky Chicken Bun
The most special one comes last!! This Stinky Chicken Bun is seriously unique!!!! Fermented stinky tofu is cut into moderate pieces, mixed with chicken chunks and seasonings. The texture is incredibly rich and unique, offering a totally different bun-eating experience. The flavor is slightly spicy with a hint of stinky tofu aroma—absolutely delicious!!
That’s all for now, sharing with everyone Up^^
