Special snacks at Su’ao Railway Station — Smoked fish offal with a unique sauce

Su’ao is a seaside town with many seafood restaurants, but this small shop is famous for its fish offal and has been in business for decades. The unique fish offal is truly unforgettable. What is fish offal? It’s the smoked internal organs of fish, offering a very distinctive flavor.

This shop is located next to Su’ao Railway Station. This row of shops used to be the busiest area in Su’ao. Forty years ago, the passenger bus Jinma, which traveled to Hualien, departed from the bus stop nearby, and travelers would dine along this street, making it very lively. However, due to changes in transportation, that bustling scene is no more.

Nevertheless, the small shop always attracts a steady stream of diners. Ever since it was featured on “Foodie Show,” business has been even better, and you should definitely be prepared to queue up if you visit on a holiday.

See those dish names in the middle? They’re quite different from what you’d find at an ordinary snack shop, aren’t they?

The walls are covered with reports from print media. The space inside the shop is actually quite homey — just a few tables and chairs are enough to run the business.

Although it’s a small shop, the prices here are not cheap for a snack bar!!!

Be sure to dip the food in the shop’s unique sauce — it guarantees an amazing flavor.

When we were there, the cutting board in the shop never stopped — one moment chopping tofu, the next slicing pig’s head meat~~
