The first “Kaohsiung Seafood Harvest Festival” will be grandly held on the 31st at Qianzhen Fishing Port to celebrate the abundant harvest of various seafood in Kaohsiung. The event site has prepared 1,500 generous servings of seafood hot pot for free enjoyment. Visitors can also taste fresh seafood, draw lucky gift bags, experience ocean culture, and immerse themselves in Kaohsiung’s most authentic seafood flavors, freshness, and local charm!

Lai Rui-long, Director of Kaohsiung City’s Ocean Affairs Bureau, stated that Kaohsiung has the innate advantage of having the country’s largest fishing port, with extremely rich and diverse fishery resources. This year, the harvest of various seafood has more than doubled. The catch of squid and saury this year both reached record highs in recent years, ranking first in the world. The production of farmed grouper and milkfish has also been increasing year by year, with the quality of fishery products ranking the best in Taiwan.

Lai Rui-long emphasized that the content of the first Kaohsiung Seafood Harvest Festival is diverse and rich. In addition to exciting traditional drum performances on stage, it is also the first time that a giant pot with a diameter of 2 meters is used on-site to cook fresh seafood such as white shrimp, tuna, milkfish balls, and grouper into a super-sized, generous seafood hot pot, with 1,500 limited servings available for the public to taste for free.

In addition, there are also free servings of saury and squid dishes, as well as fun games such as “Fish Cargo No Drop” and the “Five Treasures Memory Challenge.” The event will also culminate in the launch of 101 limited-edition seafood gift bags, available for a special price of NT$666 each. Sales start promptly at 10 a.m. that day.
