Conveying social enterprise concepts in an old-school way: Sishe Nan Village hosts a “Retro Party”

Conveying the model of social enterprises through retro attire and style. On January 31, a “Retro Party” will be held at Sishe Nan Village, using a retro market and costume party format to deliver the core ideas of “social enterprises” in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere—reconnecting with the original mission of social enterprises: helping one another and solving social issues. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in polka dots or overalls to support this pro-social enterprise event, where they can also sample Zhongliao oranges and experience the flavors of local agricultural produce.

In addition to the social enterprise market, the “Human Library,” which has toured over 30 countries including Denmark, will make a special appearance at the Retro Party. It allows visitors to “borrow” real people to read—helping you break down prejudices on the spot. The 26 social enterprises participating in the market may be lesser-known in the commercial world, offer niche products, or employ workers in unique ways. Organizer Left Brain Creative Marketing says that attendees can simply visit, chat, and experience different ways of life, just as people did in earlier societies.
