Stunning～A "Purple Amethyst Cave" Concept Hotel to Be Built on an Artificial Island in Hainan, China

"Crystal caves" are nothing new, but staying in one during a trip? That’s probably something most people haven’t even imagined yet. According tothe Daily Mail, Dutch architects have designed a hotel inspired by the concept of a"purple amethyst cave," which will be located on an artificial island in northern Hainan.

The Purple Amethyst Hotel features a volcanic rock exterior, designed by NL Architects, headquartered in Amsterdam. The "faceted" design of the crystal cave allows guest rooms to receive natural light, and there is a circular corridor connecting all the rooms.

Amethyst is believed to possess "positive" energy and has long been favored by jewelry collectors. In Chinese mythology, it was thought to have magical healing properties, with some even saying it brings good luck. The ancient Greeks believed amethyst could prevent intoxication, while in Asia it is more commonly used in feng shui.

"Regarding the mystical powers of amethyst, similar myths exist across different cultures around the world. Some say amethyst can bring good fortune in war and hunting, even protect crops from pests and natural disasters, ward off evil, and stimulate the mind," said a spokesperson for NL Architects.

He added, "Amethyst has the ability to purify negative vibrations. It can soothe excessive emotions and bring chaotic thoughts into a meditative state. It is also said to strengthen the immune system, heal respiratory and skin conditions, assist with certain addictions, and help prevent nightmares."
