Everyone must have watched Korean dramas, but not everyone has tried Korean fried chicken!!! This sauce-drenched fried chicken might seem simple at first glance—it's really just about the sauce—but it has a magical quality that keeps you going bite after bite until it's all gone, leaving you fully satisfied. Now, you can enjoy authentic Korean fried chicken in the Shinong shopping area near Yilan University!! Grab some fried chicken and head home with your favorite Korean drama!! Let K-drama stars like Lee Min-ho and Jun Ji-hyun keep you company, bringing a little daily happiness and joy!!!

Located on Shinong Road, Han Chao Korean Fried Chicken is close to the intersection of Shinong Road and Fuxing Road. Both inside and outside the shop are painted bright yellow, making it highly eye-catching. In fact, it seems to be the only one of its kind in Yilan City!!

Aside from takeout, there’s also a cozy dining area inside.

Food is stir-fried to order, so the focus here is mainly on stir-fried dishes!!

Simple, but the black-and-yellow color scheme gives off a decent vibe.

With a few Korean street-scene paintings on the walls, the dining atmosphere is quite nice, making it a great spot for a small group of friends to gather.

Ordering here is pretty straightforward: pick a main fried chicken dish, pair it with a few side dishes, and add a Korean drink from the shop—that’s the perfect combo.

The yellow one is honey yuzu tea, and the red one is raspberry vinegar drink.

The boneless chicken nugget meal actually comes with three sauce options: Korean spicy sauce, garlic ganjang sauce, and green onion yangnyeom.

Judging by the names alone, it’s hard to tell which is spicier. But the ganjang here is completely non-spicy, the yangnyeom is sweet and spicy, and the spicy sauce is, well, spicy—so you can choose based on your preference. Of course, the spicy sauce is probably the flavor Koreans love most.

The green onion yangnyeom flavor is sweet and spicy—makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Combo meal—green onion yangnyeom (nuggets) + Korean spicy sauce (chicken wings), with crispy sweet radish in the middle. Koreans are known for loving spicy food, but luckily the spice level is customizable. We went for mild spice, but those who aren’t afraid of heat can challenge the spicy chicken wings. The flavor is sweet with a kick of spice, and the sprinkling of white sesame adds aroma. The chicken texture is pretty good too.

Naturally, there’s also the famous Korean tteok (rice cakes)—these have a Q (chewy) yet soft texture with a bit of bounce. They look similar to Chinese Ningbo-style rice cakes but have a different mouthfeel, making for a new experience.

Green onion yangnyeom (nuggets)—this one is sweet with a hint of spice, though it’s hard to tell just by looking. It leans more on the sweet side, which suits Jean’s taste perfectly.

Ah~ this crunchy, sweet radish is delicious too—a great sidekick (I’d love to buy some to take home and eat with rice ^^"). After the richly flavored chicken wings, the refreshing radish brings a nice balance.

Kimchi!! This is another classic Korean national dish!!! Though it looks red and spicy, the spice level is actually tolerable—we went for mild. It has a lot of layered flavors.

Mildly spicy with a hint of the natural sweetness from napa cabbage!!! It also retains a bit of crunch. I’ve heard that Koreans always carry a jar of kimchi when they’re out—if you have a bowl of rice and kimchi, you’ve got a complete meal.

This is the chicken wing meal. All these dishes come with pickled radish—such thoughtfulness. When ordering for a group, there are even more dishes to share, which is really nice.

With added Korean-style sauce, the fried chicken wings are elevated to another level—this one’s a must-try, so don’t miss out if you love chicken wings!!

The golden crispy fries are also extraordinary—once seasoned, they’re addictive and super moreish.

And now for the main event—Korean dramas always feature drinking scenes, so let’s try that drinking fun too. Let’s have some Korean cocktails!! This is Chamisul makgeolli (Korean rice wine) + Sprite, served in these little traditional kettles and with this tiny saucer—that’s how it’s done authentically!! (Don’t drink and drive, minors no alcohol)

● ETtoday Eastday News reminds you: Don’t drink and drive, don’t drive after drinking.

The gold bowl isn’t for washing hands—it’s for drinking!! This drink is sweet and doesn’t feel like alcohol at all, very easy to drink, perfect for female friends. One sip of liquor, one bite of chicken wing—that’s so Korean!!

This gold leaf plum wine is sweet and tangy, and also really tasty!! A must-order for female friends.

Shake it up, and you can actually see the gold flakes—gold prices are sky-high these days, so it feels extra luxurious!!! Haha

Next up, a bomb cocktail (the night’s party is getting livelier)—start by pouring about half a glass of beer.

The small shot glass on top plus real soju!!

Next, the exciting part begins—we take turns pouring the soju shots into the beer glass ((the staff was nervous, and we were too))

Haha, here comes the highlight—when the two drinks mix, it really feels like a bomb going off, with a “bang” sensation!!! The visual effect is amazing, so much fun!!!!

The fun part comes later~ the spiciness of the soju actually disappears, and when mixed with the beer, it results in a mellow flavor—it’s delicious!

Of course, for those who don’t drink alcohol, you can also order authentic drinks imported from Korea.

We ordered the pear flavor one.

It has fruit bits inside!! The taste of pear juice also goes really well with chicken.

Wow~~ For those who want to try Korean alcoholic drinks, you can sample many kinds here. Haha, do you want to try every single one? Just gather a group and come eat here—that’s the way to go!! Not only are the drinks unique in flavor, but the drinking methods are fun too. The best part is that in this small place in Yilan, it seems like only here can you find authentic Korean alcoholic beverages.

If you don’t want to wait in line, there’s also a delivery service within Yilan city for orders over 500 NT dollars. (Don’t drink and drive, minors please do not drink)
