EVA Airways & Starlux Airlines launch Kaohsiung–Osaka route; 1-minute silence observed for TransAsia air disaster

Traveling from southern Taiwan to Osaka just got more convenient. EVA Air held a launch ceremony today (5th) for its new Kaohsiung–Osaka route, which will operate one daily round-trip flight using the A321-200 aircraft. The inaugural flight was fully booked, carrying 184 passengers to Japan.

On the day of the inaugural flight, as the entire nation mourned the tragic TransAsia Taipei air disaster, EVA Group’s Chief Public Relations Officer Nie Guowei led the ceremony. Dignitaries in attendance—including Kaohsiung Deputy Mayor Hsu Li-ming, Civil Aeronautics Administration Director of Kaohsiung Airport Chu Yaoguang, and Chairman of the Kaohsiung Travel Agents Association Shen Benli—joined in observing a one-minute silence for the TransAsia air disaster victims.
