More flights for less money！AirAsia's Freedom Flyer program goes live

Asia's low-cost carrier AirAsia launched the world's first Freedom Flyer program on the 8th. Unlike the previous membership system, which only awarded miles based on ticket fares, this revamped loyalty program allows passengers to earn AirAsia BIG membership points more easily and quickly. By flying with AirAsia frequently, you can redeem free tickets faster.


The new membership system rewards passengers based on the number of flights taken. This new membership program is divided into four tiers: Red (for passengers who take fewer than 13 one-way short-haul flights within 12 months), up to Gold, Platinum, and the highest Black tier (for passengers who take more than 50 AirAsia flights within 12 months).

For every 10 Malaysian Ringgit spent, Red members can earn up to 20 BIG Points, Gold members up to 40 points, Platinum members up to 70 points, and the highest-tier Black members can earn up to 120 points.

AirAsia BIG Points can be used to redeem tickets within 60 days or 365 days. For tickets departing within 60 days (Final Call Sale), you may enjoy up to a 90% discount, or even redeem a ticket for as little as 500 points. Tickets departing within 365 days (BIG Fixed Point) are redeemed according to the required flight duration in points. Additionally, one-way long-haul or Fly-Thru flights are counted as two one-way short-haul flights when calculating reward points, meaning passengers flying long-haul with AirAsia can earn double the rewards.

6,500 BIG Points can be redeemed for a one-way flight of approximately 2 hours
10,500 BIG Points can be redeemed for a one-way flight of approximately 3 hours
16,500 BIG Points can be redeemed for a one-way flight of approximately 4 hours
20,500 BIG Points can be redeemed for a one-way flight of approximately 5 hours
25,000 BIG Points can be redeemed for a one-way flight of approximately 6 hours
30,000 BIG Points can be redeemed for a one-way flight of approximately 7 hours
