The cozy Christmas season is just around the corner. In addition to New Taipei Christmas Town, there are plenty of festive and romantic date-worthy spots across New Taipei City. From Tamsui MRT Station all the way to Golden Waterfront, a dazzling golden light gallery illuminates the banks of the Tamsui River. At the ferry terminal, the rainbow-colored light poles that usually stand quietly in Tamsui Ferry Pier Plaza, watching over passing boats, have this year been transformed into a towering Christmas tree, glowing brilliantly.

At Bali Ferry Pier Plaza, an interwoven light gallery creates a beautifully romantic ambiance. Colorful lights add a touch of romance to the otherwise leisurely riverside, perfect for a stroll along the wooden boardwalk or resting in the pavilion while enjoying the river view. You can also admire sand sculpture artworks by the river, which take on a special charm at night.

At the Crescent Bridge in New Taipei City, you can see the bridge arches donning ever-changing colorful “clothes” from the Banqiao side. The flower terrace platform surrounded by shooting stars lights up the night sky, while colorful Christmas decorations spread a warm festive atmosphere. On the Xinzhuang side, there’s a pair of angel wings — perfect for photos and check-ins. Riverside areas such as Tamsui, Bali, and the Crescent Bridge have created heartwarming and idyllic riverside light galleries, which will remain lit daily from 5 PM to 11 PM from December 1 through March 14 (White Day) next year.
