Japan’s Super Cute Fox Village: Walk with Wild Foxes in Miyagi

Japan is truly a paradise for travelers who love adorable animals, with plenty of places where you can see these cute creatures. From the widely known Nara deer, Rabbit Island, and capybaras soaking in hot springs, now there’s also a Fox Village. Can you imagine?In Miyagi Prefecture’s Fox Village, for just 200 New Taiwan Dollars, you can stroll and feed six different species of foxes together with them.

According to the Daily Mail, Japanese people believe that foxes bring good luck and possess mysterious powers, such as those symbolized by Inari, the god of fertility, prosperity, and harvest. But recently, these foxes have been getting complaints for causing mischief in urban areas.

The Fox Village is divided into two areas. The first area is fenced off, and for safety reasons, some foxes are kept on leashes. After walking through this section, you’ll see foxes roaming freely, chasing you for snacks, while others hop around in nearby bushes.

If you’re afraid to get close to them, staff members are always on hand to teach you how to feed them properly. It’s easy to forget they’re wild animals when you see how cute they are, but visitors are also warned to be extra careful when feeding them and not to get too close to their mouths.
