Another Korean BBQ joint has arrived — TIGER BULGOGI sets up shop at ATT 4 FUN

While HONEY PIG was sparking a craze for Korean BBQ, another Korean grill is also gearing up to enter the Xinyi District. At ATT 4 FUN’s sixth floor in Xinyi, there are two partition walls under construction — one side will soon house Hot Pot chain Haidilao from mainland China, while the other announces the upcoming opening of a restaurant called “TIGER BULGOGI.”

I hadn’t heard of TIGER BULGOGI before, but since the construction wall prominently featured the words “Taiwan No. 1 Store,” I figured it must be from overseas. A quick Google search revealed that TIGER BULGOGI is actually a Korean BBQ chain that has been doing well in mainland China in recent years. It is part of the ZOO HOLDINGS Group, which also runs other food and beverage brands such as ZOO COFFEE (Zoo Coffee), TIGER TOPOKI (TIGER Rice Cake Hot Pot), and MONKEYS KITCHEN (Monkeys Kitchen).

In recent years, as Korean dramas have grown increasingly popular in Taiwan, related Korean cuisine has also thrived. For example, Korean fried chicken restaurants have been popping up one after another, and the long queues at HONEY PIG show no signs of abating. Perhaps following in the footsteps of the ZOO HOLDINGS Group, we may see more Korean food brands entering Taiwan in the future.
