Take a spring walk in the mountains – Golden Museum’s “Cherry Blossom Path” adorned with grand red lanterns

As the Lunar New Year atmosphere builds, the New Taipei City Golden Museum has begun decorating with strings of bright red lanterns to welcome the festival. Paired with the gradually blooming pink cherry blossom woods, visiting during the Spring Festival holiday offers a nostalgic blend of heritage sites and natural mountain scenery.

The Golden Museum stated that to celebrate the New Year, red lanterns full of festive cheer have been hung under the eaves and porches of various buildings. This year, they have specially installed rows of eye-catching large and small red lanterns along the stone steps and along the tram tracks on the path known as the “Cherry Blossom Path.” The cherry blossoms on both sides are expected to bloom around the Spring Festival. The grand red lanterns gently sway amid the fluttering pink petals, creating a romantic scene perfect for couples to take commemorative photos together.

The museum has also planned a series of Lunar New Year activities from the second to the fifth day of the first lunar month. Visitors can make their own “Lucky Miner Cat Charms” and “Sword Lion Peace Keychains,” which are cute and brightly colored, adding a memorable handmade souvenir to their trip.
