Niki Air’s world’s shortest international flight takes just 10 minutes  Netizens: Driving is faster

It looks like a bee, yet also a fly—everyone can’t help but smile at its humorous appearance. It’s Austria’s low-cost airline Niki (FlyNiki).According to the Daily Mail, Niki recently reported that the airline also holds“the world’s shortest international route”—a flight from Vienna to Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava, covering only about 50 kilometers (the distance from Taipei Main Station to Taoyuan Airport).

Boarding a plane on the “world’s shortest international route,” the flight lasts around 10 minutes—you might not even finish reading the in-flight magazine or your drink before it’s time to land. To be honest, if you drive between the two cities yourself, it takes only about 20 minutes, and taking the bus might even be quicker, not to mention cheaper. The ticket price for this 10-minute flight is around NT$1,200.

Officials said this route was set to launch on April Fools’ Day 2015, which holds significant meaning for aviation enthusiasts worldwide. However, for frequent travelers, it may not be very appealing. Niki’s owner stated that the route primarily targets transit passengers in Vienna.
