Areas such as Guohua Street, Youai Street, Zhongzheng Road, Hai’an Road, Zhengxing Street, Shennong Street, and Zhongxiao Street form one of the largest old town districts in Fucheng. After the arrival of young creative artisans, these streets have reclaimed their past glory, exhibiting a beautiful interweaving of history and art. A micro-travel stroll through Fucheng’s old streets feels like embarking on an adventure through time.

According to the Tainan City Government, in recent years, thanks to the presence of creative youths, the old streets have begun to show a completely different look. In addition to enjoying traditional delicacies, visitors can also discover novel and creative culinary delights. Hidden cafés tucked away in alleyways, along with numerous temples adorned with festive lanterns during the Spring Festival, are all set to welcome the New Year with an exuberant and artistic classical ambiance.

Temples in the old town area such as Jinhua Fu, Yaowang Temple, Xiluo Hall, Fengshen Temple, Puji Hall, and the Mazu Tower on Zhongxiao Street featured in the film “The Chef” are all lit up with festive lanterns during the Spring Festival, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere that brings back the former splendor of the old town.

Transportation Information

1. At the Dazhantain Bus Station in front of Tainan Railway Station, city buses including routes 1, 2, 5, 10, 11, 18, 19, Red Trunk Line, Red 2 Branch Line, and Green 17 Branch Line stop at the “Ximen, Youai Street Intersection” station. Get off there.
2. At the Dazhantain Bus Station in front of Tainan Railway Station, take the Tourist Bus 88 and get off at the “Shennong Street” station.
3. For those driving, parking is available at the Hai’an Road Underground Parking Lot which offers nearly a thousand parking spaces.
