Welcome the "first dawn of 2018"! Dawn and sunrise locations across Taiwan are revealed

Welcoming the first light of the new year is especially meaningful. The Taipei Astronomical Museum announced that the earliest sunrise spot in Taiwan in 2018 would be Nanhuda Mountain in Taichung City, while the earliest sunrise on the main island's plains would be at Sanxiantai in Taitung County.In addition, it also calculates the sunrise and dawn times for over 900 locations across Taiwan.

Taipei Astronomical Museum stated that when the sun is 18 degrees below the horizon and the night sky starts to brighten from complete darkness, that marks the appearance of astronomical dawn.The Taipei City Tianmu Observatory predicts that on New Year's Day 2018, at an altitude of 3,740 meters on Nanhushan Mountain in Taichung, the sunrise will appear at 5:07:49.5, making it the earliest sunrise location in the country.

Excluding remote high mountains, the earliest sunrise on flat land occurs at 5:12:55.4 on Orchid Island's Dragon Head Rock, while the earliest sunrise on the main island of Taiwan is at 5:15:12.1, visible at Sanxiantai in Taitung County.

Due to the influence of latitude, longitude, and altitude, the order of sunrise times differs slightly from the order of dawn.The earliest sunrise spot in Taiwan is New Kang Mountain in Hualien County at an altitude of 3,324 meters, with the sunrise at 6:28:06.2; in the lowlands, Orchid Island’s Dragon Head Rock offers the earliest sunrise at 6:32:28.9.The earliest sunrise on the Taiwanese mainland's plains is at the Eluanbi Lighthouse in Kenting, Pingtung County, with the sunrise time at 6:35:13.8. Visitors may want to plan ahead.

The orange green tea, which has been publicly recommended by Cai Aga, also has a different flavor in each season. The store manager Li said, “Previously we used imported oranges — the sweetness and aroma were stronger. Now it’s peak season, and the domestic ones taste milder.
