9 New Taipei City Spring Cherry Blossom Routes – Travel Along with the Blossoms

From January to March each year when spring warms the earth, Taiwan mountain cherries, double-petal cherries, and Yoshino cherries bloom one after another along with the arrival of spring. This year’s New Taipei City cherry blossom season theme, “Travel Along with the Blossoms,” features four different cherry blossom routes and activities: urban relaxation, religious blessings, family outings, and mountain hiking. In addition to enjoying the beautiful cherry blossoms during the Lunar New Year holiday, there will also be a “Cherry Blossoms Soaring with Joy Parade” event on February 28 at the San-Sheng Trail in Sanchi District, inviting the public to go cherry blossom viewing and hiking.

Within the four major themes of this year's event, the itineraries include the tea-scented Shihding District Erge Trail mountain cherry blossoms, the Lin Kou District Zhulinshan Guanyin Temple—a sacred site for New Year blessings—the romantic and picturesque Sanchi District Dahu Road and San-Sheng Trail, as well as the Yoshino cherry blossoms at the Wujitianyuan Temple in Tamsui District. Additionally, after cherry blossom viewing on the Dajianshan Trail, visitors can head to the nearby Xizhi Night Market; the Zhongshan Hot Spring Park in Jinshan District is perfect for family cherry blossom outings, and is also close to the Jinkouli Old Street. At the Gold Ecological Park in Ruifang District, apart from admiring the mountain-city cherry blossoms, visitors can also stroll through the famous Jiufen Old Street. Other routes suitable for New Year cherry blossom viewing and travel include the Tianshiyuan Temple near Tamsui Old Street and the Sanchi District San-Sheng Trail, where you can visit the Shell Temple—making them all great options for spring exploration.

The New Taipei City Government stated that the “Cherry Blossoms Soaring with Joy Parade” event scheduled for February 28 will feature a hiking route of approximately 9 kilometers. The event site will also offer activities such as stamp collecting to exchange for agricultural products and radish-pulling experiences, allowing the public to enjoy a healthy and enjoyable cherry blossom journey.
