There are so many great old-school eateries in Fengshan... This no-signboard noodle shop has been around for 37 years, and it was Hu Li’s first time trying it out!(Q¯∀¯Q) It’s also referred to online as “Zhao Family Noodle Shop”. The shop really doesn’t have a sign, but it’s super easy to find thanks to the crowds of people!! This traditional-style noodle shop offers four main types of staples.... noodles, rice vermicelli, |?Cu⒚ZiδJun?MengchuncongdizheD Passed down from Old Zhao to Young Zhao, this place has been around for nearly forty years...day after day, they simmer big bone broth, using only the most straightforward seasonings. Being able to taste the original flavor of the ingredients—that’s the unique charm of old-school cuisine!(=´%`)

[Dry Noodles]Large bowl NT$45 / Small bowl NT$35(Hu Li ordered the small bowl)
Even though we went at noon, it was actually pretty late for this noodle shop.... We almost didn’t get any noodles XD Luckily, we managed to snag a few servings of noodles and braised items in the end!(д⊂) The noodles used at Zhao Family Noodle Shop are exactly Hu Li’s favorite kind!!They’re chewy, and paired with their homemade braised pork topping... it’s an absolutely perfect match~~~

When you lift the noodles, steam just bursts out wildly~~ So tempting!! ??0??´Д`)??? Hu Li shoveled bite after bite into her mouth.... she couldn’t see anyone or anything else around her = =

Sha Li likes to add chili oil to her dry noodles for extra flavor, especially at an old-school noodle shop... feels like the sauces are amazing too XD For those who love spicy food, we recommend adding some of Zhao’s chili oil~~ But not too much!! Just a tiny bit is enough.... because it’s seriously spicy, haha (those who love spice will find it satisfying) Even though it’s spicy, it’s super addictive!! The more you add, the better—it really whets your appetite^^

In addition to the rich pork topping and some bean sprouts and scallions, the dry noodles also come with a few slices of meat~~

[Rice Vermicelli Soup]Large bowl NT$45 / Small bowl NT$35
As the saying goes, the early bird gets the worm (Hu Li gets to eat!! XD) Hu Li slept in too late.... By the time we got to the noodle shop, we realized that most of the items were already sold out!!! ??? I really don’t want to leave this place, the taste is amazing and the atmosphere is great too. My friend and I also tried their special drinks, which were not disappointing........(sweat)

The broth for the rice vermicelli is light but very flavorful!! The overall texture is great~~ Even Sha Li, who usually doesn’t like rice vermicelli, thought it was pretty good. Zhao Family Noodle Shop is thoughtful—they set aside time to change the water for fresh noodles (they don’t cook noodles during this period, but you can still get braised items XDD) Everyone should pay special attention—the changeover time is 10:30-11:00 AM

[Braised Items]Pork skin / Intestines / Rice Vermicelli Sausage / Pork Head Skin / Pig Ears (NT$25 per portion)
Every time we go to a noodle shop, Sha Li always orders some braised items to try.... Even though they’re not the main focus, they’re the soul of a noodle shop~~ Zhao Family didn’t disappoint us XD The pork skin is handled really cleanly!! It’s fresh, chewy, and full of collagen.

Don’t miss out if you love pork skin~~~

The braised items also include Sha Li’s favorite rice vermicelli sausage~~ But Zhao Family Noodle Shop doesn’t use artificial coloring to make it pink^^ The delicious texture remains the same, making it even more reassuring to eat!! d(`?∀?)b The fried tofu is also plump and firm.... The soy sauce paste is perfectly salty-sweet, and a little dip really boosts the flavor!

[Meatball Soup]NT$15 per bowl
Coming late... there weren’t many soup options left = = Why are all the regulars so fast!! Hu Li ordered the most basic meatball soup and egg drop soup~~ and the broth turned out amazingΣ(°Д°; It’s light, not greasy, and has a hint of sweetness.... pairs really well with the dry noodles.

Meatball fan Sha Li thought the meatballs had a good meaty flavor.... and tasted fresh too!

[Egg Drop Soup]NT$15 per bowl
For someone like Hu Li who only wanted soup and had no other choice, only the egg drop soup was left.... hahaha!! Even a simple soup can be delicious~~ The chopped scallions on top are homemade too!! (´⊙ω⊙`) So impressive....

Old Zhao himself fries the scallion oil—he relies on this for the aroma!! (Q¯∀¯Q) The preparation takes quite a while... from picking the scallions, stir-frying, to controlling the heat, every step is crucial~~ He insists on making it entirely by hand, taking all day to complete. The unique fragrance simply can’t be replicated by machines!

Super adorable Old Zhao!! You’ll see him in the shop XDD

Actually, Zhao Family is just like a regular neighborhood noodle shop you’d pass on your way home.... but it has its own unique charm!! Maybe it’s Young Zhao’s dedication that carries on Old Zhao’s spirit, preserving that traditional old-school flavor~~ Coming here isn’t just about eating delicious food, it’s also about savoring a feeling of nostalgia (〃∀〃) Hu Li is already ready to go back for some flat rice noodles and rice vermicelli noodles next time.... stay tuned XDD

Life is about experiences, and living is about trying. “Taste” is a highly subjective thing — it’s only when expectations are met and emotions are stirred that we can truly savor love.
