As Japan’s cherry blossom season approaches, the Japan Meteorological Agency has released its latest predictions for blooming dates. Tokyo is expected to see blossoms on March 26, Osaka on March 28. Travelers planning to visit Japan for hanami should keep an eye on these forecasts to catch the peak blooms.

According to the official website of Weathernews Inc., this year’s cherry blossoms are expected to bloom earlier than usual due to colder winter temperatures compared to the past two years. The “cherry blossom front” is likely to start in Kochi this year. Currently, blooms are predicted to begin in Fukuoka, Kyushu on March 22, followed by Nagoya on March 25, Tokyo on March 26, and Osaka on March 27. Tokyo is expected to reach full bloom on April 3, Kyoto on April 5, and Osaka on April 3.
