After more than three months of rest and recuperation, Guishan Island will reopen to tourists for island tours on March 1, with a daily online application limit of 1,000 visitors. Before reopening, the Wind and Sea Management Office and related agencies specially organized a beach cleanup event.

The Northeast Coast & Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Administration under the Tourism Bureau stated that Guishan Island will reopen for tourist island entry applications from March 1 until the end of November. The daily online application quota is limited to 1,000 visitors. Applications can be made atNortheast Coast & Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Administration.

Although Guishan Island is not open to tourism during the winter each year, due to strong northeast monsoon waves, seawater currents during this period often bring marine debris that blankets the beaches. Therefore, the management office and related units specially organized a beach cleanup on the island before reopening for tourism.

In addition, to provide visitors with a higher quality of leisure experience, the Northeast Coast National Scenic Area Administration completed repairs, cleaning, and maintenance work on the island’s tourist service center and public toilets before the reopening of Guishan Island. Regarding dock operations, dredging work at the southern shore dock has been completed, and the northern shore dock’s boardwalk has been renovated. These improved facilities aim to deliver better tourism services.

The Wind and Sea Management Office recommends that after visiting Guishan Island or returning from a whale and dolphin watching trip, tourists can visit the Lanyang Museum, or take in the views of Guishan Island and fishing boats along the coastal highway, including the bright yellow Wai’ao Service Area or the Hilltop Castle Café. They can also explore nearby leisure farms or enjoy the freshest seafood at restaurants around Wushih Port.
