The mountain cuisine beloved by motorcyclists may just be found here. Located at kilometer 12.5 on Provincial Highway 7 in Fuxing District, Taoyuan, this American-style restaurant sits alongside a road rarely frequented by people. With an old-school American aesthetic blended with rugged industrial design, it creates a striking contrast of beauty along Taiwan’s winding mountain roads. This restaurant, "Zoo Zoo Cafe," created for car and bike lovers, leaves a deep impression.

If the food is the soul of a restaurant, Zoo Zoo Cafe might be a secret base for car lovers with a dual soul. A classic 1964 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia is parked inside the store — a vintage vehicle that still has a valid license and can be driven normally. It's part of the collection owned by the owner, Sun Zhengfeng. As a professional car enthusiast, it’s not enough to just own a few real classic cars; you also need the passion to create a comfortable dining space for fellow enthusiasts. That’s how "Zoo Zoo Cafe Lulu Cafe" was born.

Opened last year (2014) in August, Zoo Zoo Cafe embraces an American retro style, yet the interior remains light and uncluttered, without excessive antique accumulation. The entire space is simple yet aesthetic. Sun Zhengfeng said the name "Zoo" was chosen because the location happens to be in an area called "Yuanshan" (Round Mountain). He originally thought of naming it "Yuanshan Zoo," but felt it lacked novelty, so he opted for the English word “Zoo,” leading to the final name "Zoo Zoo Cafe."

Featuring wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, and steaks as its main offerings, the most popular item in the store is a Mexican pizza with a spicy kick, topped with pickled green chili peppers. It doesn’t entirely follow traditional Mexican spice flavors but incorporates an American twist by mixing minced meat with the dough — truly flavorful. The oversized steaks are also highly popular. Sun Zhengfeng says many bikers come specifically to enjoy the hearty pleasure of digging into big portions of meat.

In addition to the food and vintage cars, the store also offers table football, dart machines, and the Zoo Zoo Garage, which provides basic tools for both large and small vehicles. The open space is vibrant and filled with creative ideas tailored for car lovers — a type of shop rarely seen in typical Taiwanese cities. Being there truly gives you the feeling of being in the American wilderness, with dust whipped up by the wind outside the window.
