Let Transit Passengers Discover Japan: Narita Airport Launches “Five Free Themed Half-Day Tours”

Japan boasts diverse natural beauty and rich historical heritage, beloved by travelers worldwide. To help more passengers experience the charm of Japan, Tokyo’s Narita Airport has launched the “Narita Transit Program – Free Themed Tours” for transit passengers. Guided by tour leaders, passengers can explore areas around Narita Airport, adding new travel memories to their journey.

The Narita Transit Program Promotion Association for Transit Passengers Visiting Japan stated that since March, the “Narita Transit Program” has offered five different tour options, each lasting approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. The program includes visits to historic temples, rural natural landscapes, and shopping opportunities, with the five themed tours as follows:

1. “Historic Landmark Tour”: Led by a guide, visit Naritasan Shinshoji Temple and Omotesando in Narita City to experience Japanese culture. The entire tour lasts about 3 hours.
2. “Aviation Science Tour”: Led by a guide, visit the Aviation Science Museum in Shisui Town to learn about aviation history and even try your hand at operating an aircraft. The entire tour lasts about 3 hours.
3. “Japanese Countryside Tour”: Led by a guide, explore Tokatsu Town to experience the rustic, unspoiled charm of satoyama. The entire tour lasts about 3 hours.
4. “Famous Outlet Shopping Fun”: Freely shop at Sakurazuka Premium Outlets, with about 2 hours of shopping time.
5. “Famous Department Store Shopping Fun”: Shop at Narita AEON Mall and also enjoy a fun traditional Japanese cultural experience, lasting about 3 hours.

Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism also noted that registration for the five tours is open daily from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Passengers can sign up at the Transit Program counter in the arrival halls of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Narita Airport.
