Last updated 2026-09-25 — Tasweet, a new favorite spot of a well-known café owner, instantly feels delightful upon stepping through its doors. Within five seconds of sitting down, I couldn’t wait to head straight for the dessert counter. I ordered Aomori apple juice (NT$150), plain éclair (NT$65), red wine fig chocolate pound cake (NT$45), caramel banana pound cake (NT$42), Kyoho grape roll (NT$140), and Mont Blanc roll (NT$150).

Chef Xiao not only holds a Japanese pastry chef license but also brings a delicate touch from the East. Starting with the éclairs, the sweetness is never overwhelming, and this style carries through to the end. Whether it's the red wine fig or caramel banana, each flavor delicately unfolds within a soft and fluffy texture.

The most surprising has to be their Swiss rolls — incredibly light whipped cream paired with slightly tart grapes, as if wandering through spring mountain springs, caressed by a sweet breeze with a hint of warm sunlight. It’s truly comforting.

Writing this makes me yearn to step away from the screen and mechanical keyboard, head into the kitchen, and pull out an Auslese that’s been chilled for a day or two. With its German mineral-like aroma and acidity, it seems to bring back the wonderful memories of that afternoon — einfach umwerfend (absolutely stunning)!
