Taiwan's only one！Taichung’s “Le Moût Restaurant” once again makes the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list

The 2015 list of “Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants,” announced on March 9 by UK-based William Reed Business Media, includes Taiwan’s Le Moût French Restaurant, which was the first and only Taiwanese restaurant to be selected last year. It remains the only Taiwanese restaurant on the list this year. Although its ranking slipped slightly in 2015—from 24th in 2014 to 26th in 2015—it still being included is a testament to Le Moût’s strong reputation.

Ranking at the top is Bangkok’s Gaggan, followed by Tokyo’s Narisawa in second place, Shanghai’s Ultraviolet by Paul Pairet in third, Tokyo’s Den (which also operates as Xiang Yun Long Yin in Taiwan in partnership with HSH Group) in fourth, and Singapore’s Restaurant André led by celebrity chef André Chiang in fifth. The sixth to tenth spots are held by Amber (Hong Kong), Nahm (Bangkok; ranked 1st in 2014), 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana (Hong Kong), Waku Ghin (Singapore), and Jungsik (Seoul).

Additionally, in 2014, Chef André Chiang was named Asia’s Best Female Chef, but in 2015, that title went to Hong Kong’s Vicky Lau.
