The small stall of “Dama Tapioca Pearls” is always crowded with people. It has been around for 18 years, originally setting up shop on Fuxing Street before moving to the intersection of Wenhua Road and Fushang Lane. The shop follows traditional methods in its preparation — starting from the base starch, they use large rice sieves to shake the dough into round shapes before boiling them into tapioca pearls. Other ingredients like taro balls, sweet potato balls, grass jelly, and herbal jelly are also all made in-house, with no chemicals added.
