Today (March 11) marks the fourth anniversary of the 3/11 Great East Japan Earthquake. Mr. Ramen, a well-known ramen shop“Mr. Ramen”founded by a Japanese national and based in Tainan, saw its president, Norio Nozaki, launch a special one-day-only buy one get one free event on March 11 as a gesture of appreciation for Taiwan’s help back then.
On Mr. Ramen’s official Facebook page, Norio Nozaki stated: “Seven years ago I came to Taiwan to pursue a PhD in law. From not knowing a single word of Chinese at the beginning to where I am now, I have received tremendous encouragement and assistance from many Taiwanese people along the way. My life in Taiwan can only be described as ‘happy.’ Without the help of the Taiwanese people, there would be no me today.”
In addition to expressing gratitude on the Mr. Ramen Facebook page for Taiwan’s aid to Japan, founder Norio Nozaki also finds unforgettable the warm help he has received from many Taiwanese over the years.
