The newly opened Fortuna Harbour View Hotel in Hong Kong (3-star) in September 2014 is a business-economic light accommodation option, located very close to Fortress Hill MTR station. It’s just two stops away from Causeway Bay shopping district, about HK$30 by taxi, making it quite convenient. The Fortuna Harbour View Hotel focuses on eco-friendly, non-smoking, tech-savvy services, with mobile check-in available in all 338 rooms. (No need to queue for check-in—get your room key on your phone on the way to the hotel!)

The lobby also adopts a bright, spacious, simple, and stylish feel, with color-changing lights adding some fun to the clean and neat space.

The design follows a minimalist style, with minimal hotel descriptions. The entire experience is geared toward an interactive way for guests to find out what they want to know. Relevant information pages are also accessed by scanning QR codes.

The basic room type is very efficient, somewhat akin to the style of Taiwan’s Just Sleep, with a touch of eco-tech concepts.

Fortuna Harbour View Hotel is located in a very convenient location in the Hong Kong Island area, with well-developed transportation networks. Whether by MTR or taxi, it’s not far from the city center. Suitable for business meetings, trade shows, and cultural event visits. When traffic is smooth, it’s only a five-minute drive to Causeway Bay.
Perfectly suited for business travelers who just need a good sleep, but the soundproofing isn’t great—if you’re like me and don’t mind noise, it’s fine. I could hear my neighbor talking, and even when they were showering, I knew about it too.

▲ The mini bar includes Twinings classic English Breakfast Tea, which I like. The lobby’s self-service mini bar offers both English Breakfast Tea and Earl Grey tea bags.

▲ The safe is simple and easy to use, and the closet has ample hanging space. Two types of hangers are thoughtfully designed, with anti-slip grips on the shoulders to prevent silk shirts from slipping off.

▲ The transparent bathroom glass is frosted in key areas, and the showerhead and faucet are eco-friendly.

▲ The hotel provides toothbrushes, bath products, shampoo, shower caps, soap, hairdryer, and slippers. Please bring any other personal items yourself.

My favorite area:
The 3F outdoor space features a lush sky garden concept. At night, it’s dim and romantic, like sitting in a park. You can bring a grinder here for afternoon tea. For business trips, you can work outdoors with your laptop using the hotel’s WiFi, enjoy free coffee, and it's truly a peaceful spot in the midst of the hustle and bustle.

It provides some basic exercise equipment for business travelers, with three machines that include both cardio and upper/lower body muscle training equipment.

Fortress Hill by Hotel ICAC is affordably priced and conveniently located. What impressed me besides its outdoor space and eco-friendly concept were its creative and tech-savvy innovations—such as mobile check-in services—and its encouragement for guests to provide feedback on TripAdvisor to help deliver high-quality service that better meets public convenience needs. Recommended for budget-conscious travelers and businesspeople.
