Everyone wants to look their best while traveling abroad, but for some reason, upon arrival, not only is your makeup and hairstyle ruined, your face looks dull, and your luggage may even have issues—so what’s behind all this? Friends, the moment you step into the cabin, the enemy has already been lurking around you: the air.
Here aresome tips compiled by the American travel website Sherman’s Travel.

1. Protect liquid bottles and jars
Many people find their shampoo has exploded upon reaching their destination. This tragedy is caused by the air pressure difference between ground level and high altitude. To avoid this, when packing, squeeze the air out of these bottles and jars and immediately tighten the caps. If you’re still worried, wrap these liquid containers in plastic bags—this way, at least there’s an extra layer of protection if they do burst.
2. Moisturize wisely
Spray-on moisturizers aren’t the best option, because the cabin air is so dry that spraying it on your face doesn’t hydrate it—in fact, it can make your skin even drier. A better approach is to apply a moisturizing lotion.
3. Apply sunscreen before flying
During a flight, you’re exposed to ultraviolet rays at high altitude, but many people don’t realize this. Excessive UV exposure can age your skin and cause wrinkles. Experts recommend “applying sunscreen with SPF 15 to your face, neck, and the sides of your neck. The SPF in foundation isn’t enough—you should ideally have sun protection in your moisturizer as well.”
