Tainan’s Hidden Alleyway MaoN
Mimi had visited once before with friends but didn’t take any particular photos at the time. It wasn’t until she recently tried another of their brands, MaoFang Congyou Hotpot, that the idea of photographing MaoN

Haha, but honestly... if I weren’t coming here specifically to eat, even as a Tainan local, I’d rarely pass through this area!
The environment, created by renovating an old house, is quite comfortable and not cluttered, with an overall pleasant vibe. No wonder, even though it’s not a new shop, it continues to attract new customers. We visited around 1 PM on a weekday afternoon, and the place was still about half full.
The service staff were very friendly, making the experience from seating, ordering, serving, to payment all quite pleasant.
Starving, we quickly ordered and waited for our meal. In addition to bringing the bill for confirmation, the staff also gave us a postcard that the shop can mail anywhere for you once you’ve written on it.

The wall also lists hidden menu items. For example, today they had black vinegar oysters, grilled oysters, grilled salmon jaw, pineapple iced tea, etc. Any current promotions in the shop are also listed there.
Pineapple Iced Tea ($60) , MaoN
MaoN, served in a wooden barrel, looks both abundant and impressive. It comes with 16 varieties of sashimi and seared fish piled high, each bite delivering a taste of extreme freshness. The vinegar rice underneath, despite being topped with so many ingredients, has a great texture that isn’t overly hardened.
Although at first glance this bowl of MaoN
Moon-View Natural Beef N, this price seems much more friendly, doesn’t it?
The beef has a tender texture without gristle, and when the egg yolk is mixed in, it becomes even silkier. The sauce is quite sweet, and overall this N
