The U.S. "Alien Highway" has a speed limit of 7 mph — a pilgrimage site for UFO enthusiasts in a Nevada town

According to Entertainment Planet,Nevada State Route 375 lies deep in the desert. At some point, it stopped being known by its number and became widely called the "Extraterrestrial Highway." A Google search reveals it’s now an official road name. Why is it called that? Because many people claim to have seen unidentified flying objects with their own eyes while driving along this road.

However, many also explain that this is due to the presence of the Nellis Air Force Base in the U.S., where missiles, aircraft, and weapons have been tested since the 1950s. What really fueled the alien rumors in the area was "Area 51," rumored to be a secret U.S. base for handling UFO debris and alien bodies — though the U.S. government has yet to confirm any of this.

Sensing tourism potential, officials officially named State Route 375 the "Extraterrestrial Highway" in 1996. On the day the name was unveiled, movie studio 20th Century Fox even attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Rachel, the only bustling town along the highway, began attracting visitors with its alien-themed attractions.

Visitors to the area will find humorous signs everywhere, such as "State Route 375" and "Speed Limit 7 MPH on Curves." Businesses near Route 375 have embraced the alien theme — like the "Little A'Le'Inn Tavern" serving alien burgers, the "Alien Research Center," "astronaut statues," and even a "UFO parking lot."
