China Airlines expands fleet, recruits 400 new international staff in first half of 2015

The first round of cabin crew recruitment by China Airlines this year attracted over 6,000 applicants from both domestic and overseas. The preliminary screening for local Chinese cabin crew was held on the 21st at the China Airlines campus in Taoyuan, with plans to hire 300 candidates.

This year, China Airlines will introduce 5 Boeing 777-300ERs and 2 Boeing 737-800s. To accommodate operational expansion, in addition to recruiting 300 local cabin crew members, the airline is also hiring Thai and Japanese cabin crew. It expects to bring in 400 new cabin crew in the first half of the year, bringing the total number of cabin crew to nearly 3,500.

Candidates who took part in the preliminary screening can check their results on the China Airlines website from 12:00 noon on March 22 to 11:59 PM on March 25. Those who pass the preliminary screening will be eligible to attend the second round of interviews and personality tests on March 28 and 29. Evaluators will score candidates based on verbal communication skills and quick thinking. After a comprehensive assessment that includes preliminary and final interview scores, English proficiency test results, and physical examinations, successful candidates will begin a nine-week pre-service training program, covering basic in-flight and ground duties, in batches starting at the end of April. They are expected to join the cabin crew team before the peak summer travel season.
