2015 Taiwan Tung Blossom Season: First Look at Flower Viewing

Every spring, from April to May, is Tung Blossom season across Taiwan—a perfect time for people to go out, enjoy the sight of white blossoms falling like snow, and stroll along Tung Blossom trails. Below is a summary of the latest Tung Blossom viewing events across Taiwan in 2015.

New Taipei City
Tucheng Tung Blossom Park: from late March to mid-April each year.

Miaoli
Fifteen ancient trails including Zhuangqiao Jian Tan, Touwu Mingfeng, Sanwan Shenzhou Mountain, and Sanyi Coal Carrying Trail will be in bloom around April to May. During the event period, there will be cultural and artistic activities such as pottery making, indigo dyeing workshops, and concerts.

Nantou
Niuer Art Resort Village in Puli Township: the best viewing period is expected to be mid-April. The Council of Hakka Affairs’ 2015 National Tung Blossom Festival also kicks off at Niuer on April 11.

Changhua
The Dong’ou Tung Blossom Trail on the eastern outer ring of Bagua Mountain and the Tianshui Ancient Trail in Fangyuan Township also have blooming tung blossoms.

Yunlin
At Tung Blossom Park, visitors can stroll along the blossom-lined trails, enjoy Gu keng coffee, and experience the simplest and most joyful romantic Hakka vibe. The festival runs grandly from April 4 to April 18. Due to its geographical location, it’s the earliest area in the country where Tung Blossoms bloom.

The 2015 Hakka Tung Blossom Festival is expected to take place roughly between April 4 and May 17, with May predicted to be the most beautiful month for viewing the blossoms. Many Tung Blossom events will hold their opening ceremonies on April 11 at Nantou’s Niuer Art Resort Village and on April 18 at Heping Station on the Neiwan Line in Hsinchu.
