3D Panda and Big Bear Colorful Rice Field Goes Viral; Pingtung County Government Adds 800 Temporary Parking Spaces

The Pingtung International Colorful Rice Art Festival collaborated with LINE to create the world’s first rice field featuring cartoon characters from LINE FRIENDS. The event kicked off on March 28. Due to an overwhelming number of visitors over the two-day holiday, the county government stated that Nanzhou Sugar Refinery had originally planned for 750 parking spaces, and has additionally prepared nearly 4 hectares (approximately 800 spaces) by leveling land. Visitors can take shuttle buses within the factory area to reach the colorful rice field event. During the holiday, shuttle buses will run every five to ten minutes, and parking will be completely prohibited along the road in front of Cihui Medical College.

As May 3 to May 5 coincides with the Kenting Music Festival, the Donggang Police Precinct will implement traffic control measures at the Nanzhou Interchange ramp to manage the influx of vehicles heading to Kenting. Therefore, vehicles exiting Nanzhou Sugar Refinery and intending to head north on Freeway No. 3 will be redirected to enter via the Dingding Interchange. Relevant authorities have expedited the installation of directional signs and the marking of traffic routes.

It is important to note that the viewing platform for panoramic photos of the colorful rice field will distribute numbered tickets on-site during specific morning and afternoon time slots: 400 morning tickets at 8 AM, 1,200 at 9 AM, and morning standby tickets at 10 AM; 800 afternoon tickets at 12 PM, 800 at 2 PM, and afternoon standby tickets at 4 PM.
