Golden Three Malt's Kids' Festival Kicks Off—Bring Your Kids to See "Mars King" at the Xinzhuang Store!

Who says kids' festivals are just for children? Golden Three Malt is hosting its first-ever Kids' Festival from April 3 to May 10, with a special theme titled “Back to Age 11,” bringing back the “Golden Old Times Playground” to revive childhood memories of the 1980s. The Xinzhuang store has also partnered with a toy museum to display various tin robots, including Gundam’s “Mars King,” which has become a hit with kids eager for photos. In addition to the tin robots, there are also pinball machines—perfect for parents and kids to enjoy together.

Why did the Xinzhuang store choose to showcase tin robots? Wong Hao-hsuan, Marketing Manager of Golden Three Malt’s Brand Business Division, explained that tin robots were Japan’s main export toys during its economic recovery in the 1950s, and many were produced in factories located in Wugu and Taishan—areas geographically close to the Xinzhuang store. Moreover, these robots are nostalgic reminders of childhood for those born in the 1960s and 70s. Golden Three Malt hopes this event will help them recall happy memories while sharing them with their own children, reflecting the brand’s spirit of “The More You Share, The More We Unite.” Wong added that Golden Three Malt serves generous portions meant for sharing, using food to strengthen bonds among family and friends—another emotional connection the brand aims to foster.

The Xinzhuang Jingguan Store and the Dazhi Miramar Store’s “Time Travel Exhibit” respectively showcase classic tin robots and reconstructed old street scenes, transporting visitors back in time. At the Xinzhuang Jingguan Store, large backdrops introduce the types and history of tin robots, with the “Mars King” being a representative classic. A 2-meter-tall model of the robot is on display, attracting not only adults but also kids eager to take photos with it. Wong Hao-hsuan said that kids born in the internet era are often glued to their phones, constantly scrolling. He hopes this tin robot exhibition will let them experience genuine emotion while also reawakening adults’ childhood memories, building stronger parent-child bonds and encouraging more interaction.

During the Kids' Festival, all branches feature a “Golden Old Times Playground,” but the tin robots can only be seen at the Xinzhuang Jingguan Store. Moreover, the Xinzhuang Jingguan Store is offering a free “Old Times Department Store” coaster—created by well-known illustrator “Wu Qi”—with a hand-drawn style depicting retro 1980s items like Voltron and the Family Computer. The coasters are available while supplies last. On April 3, the Xinzhuang Jingguan Store also held a parent-child party called “Kids’ Fun Day,” where parents and children engaged in sand art, balloon animal workshops, and toy swaps to enhance interaction.

Golden Three Malt’s Kids' Festival runs until May 10. Friends living near Xinzhuang should consider bringing their kids over the weekend to see the tin robots, play some pinball, and experience real, heartfelt fun.
