Having lived in Zhonghe and Yonghe for 30 years, I always knew there was a famous “Myanmar Street” in Zhonghe, but I really had no idea what kind of food could be found there. So I did a Google search and saw that the “Jinshan Mian” at “Awei Myanmar Snack Shop” seemed quite impressive, so I decided to go try it one day.

Whether queuing up to order or dining inside, you’ll hear the owner and staff or fellow hometown customers chatting in dialect, giving me a strong sense of being in Myanmar. I took a look at the photos of dishes on the wall, and the “Jinshan Mian” was still the one that most tempted my appetite, so I ordered a bowl of noodles along with a bowl of “fish soup.”

  1. “Awei Myanmar Snack Shop” mainly sells Burmese-style noodle dishes.
  2. I arrived at the shop for a meal around 10 a.m., and there were already quite a few customers.
