Last updated 2026-11-08 — When talking about Kagoshima, it is inevitable to introduce the spiritual mountain in the hearts of Satsuma people - "Sakurajima", one of the only active volcanoes in the world. The best angle to view Sakurajima is the "Shiroyama Observation Deck" at an altitude of 107 meters, where you can have a sweeping view of the entire Sakurajima outline and Kagoshima city. When the sun is shining brightly, you can clearly see even the smoking volcanic clouds behind.
