Travel industry joins hands to spread love: 600 underprivileged children to take a cruise and visit Taipei 101

As Mother’s Day approaches, the Taipei City Travel Agents Association, in collaboration with the Taipei City Government, is hosting the “Happy Taipei Love Tour” event. It invites 600 underprivileged family members to enjoy a free low-carbon one-day tour of Taipei on May 9 using public transport such as the MRT and cruise ships, allowing more people to celebrate Mother’s Day.

In recent years, the Taipei City Government has actively promoted BMW tours (Bus, Bike, Metro, Walk) using buses, bicycles, MRT, and walking. This meaningful Love Tour event, with the assistance of 200 volunteers, arranges for participants to use a one-day MRT pass to travel to Tamsui, experience a cruise on the Blue Highway, enjoy a street-closed luncheon for seniors in Ningxia Night Market, and in the afternoon, visit the Taipei 101 Observatory to take in the city views.

The organizers noted that this route allows participants to experience many highlights of Taipei without using tour buses. Instead, they travel on foot and via the MRT, making it more eco-friendly and energy-saving. Beyond this event, it also serves as an ideal one-day itinerary for anyone planning to explore Taipei.

Chairman of the Taipei City Travel Agents AssociationXu [Name unclear due to encoding] stated that the association holds the Taipei International Tourism Expo every May and allocates part of its profits to charitable causes. This year, the event has been expanded for the first time in hopes of helping more underprivileged families in need.
