If you have some time, shouldn’t you treat yourself to a nice moment, unwind after days of busyness, or reconnect with friends you haven’t seen in a while over a gathering? On my previous visit to the Xin San Lu area, I felt it was quite traditional, but I never expected that even brunch options here would be so diverse, offering new choices. I’d like to introduce a newly opened brunch spot in Luzhou District — V?Brunch, perfect for those looking for a nutritious and energizing meal to kickstart their day with vitality.

After sending the kids to school, breakfast time has usually passed, so having brunch when you eat late is the most convenient way to cover two meals at once. Tuesday is their day off, so don’t go then or you might find the place closed.

The chairs and decor in the shop are different from typical breakfast eateries, giving off a simpler and more elegant vibe. By the time I arrived, it was already work hours, but there were still quite a few customers. I took advantage of a quieter moment to snap a photo.

The shop has seating designed for solo diners, so you won’t feel awkward coming here alone for brunch. Enjoying a leisurely moment can also be a great lifestyle choice.

This month’s newly trial-operated V?Brunch is really impressive and well-designed. They offer free Wi-Fi so you can browse the internet while waiting for your food. The shop uses freshly selected fruits and vegetables plus homemade signature sauces, making every dish both delicious and healthy. With thoughtful ingredient selection, you can dine with peace of mind.

There are also children’s books, comics, and magazines on the bookshelf nearby, with a good variety suitable for all ages. The owner also mentioned they plan to add some toys or drawing supplies for kids in the future, so parents can enjoy a relaxing mealtime while their little ones are entertained.

Since it’s self-service, there’s no service charge. On the bright and visible wooden box, you can help yourself to what you need, including boiled water, utensils, and sauces.

The boiled water has lemon slices added, making it both refreshing and thirst-quenching. The glass cups used are adorable — I bet my kid would love them if they came. Although child-sized utensils are also available.

The wall decorations with photos are cute. Upon closer look, they’re actually postcards, adding an artistic touch to the white walls.

Flower Bacon Cheese Sun Beef Burger $170
Seeing the “Big Bite Burger Set” on the menu, I just had to check out how huge the burger really is. I’ve always loved burgers, and the set that came with it included fries, mashed potatoes, and seasonal fruits — a whole big plate. Seeing the white plate made me want to use ketchup to draw a smiley face, representing my relaxed and happy mood today.

Once the set was served, I could see the towering burger, stacked so high it looked like it might topple over. Layers of lettuce, beef, and a sunny egg piled one on top of the other — you’d really have to open your mouth wide to take a bite.

When I opened it up, I could smell the rich aroma of peanut butter, paired with the scent of beef and bacon — it was so tempting I could almost taste it. You can really tell the care the shop puts into selecting quality, fresh ingredients.

The beef patty in the middle is cooked to about 80% done, which is just right — it retains its juiciness. Paired with a generous spread of peanut butter, the flavors complement each other perfectly. Even though it’s super high in calories, when the food is this good, who’s counting? It’s okay to indulge once in a while.

There are quite a few side options with the burger — the fries are crispy and full of flavor, impossible to stop eating. The mashed potatoes are rich, creamy, and smooth.

Finally, I had some seasonal fruit — my favorites, tomatoes and papaya — which was a great finish. The portion was quite large and left me feeling very full.

Each set comes with a drink (black tea or green tea), and you can swap for another drink with a $20 discount. Without hesitation, we both chose milk cap series drinks.

A sprinkle of green tea powder adds a lovely fragrance. Holding the cup to your lips, you sip the black tea and milk cap together — the milk cap is slightly salty while the tea is sweet, creating a distinct sweet-and-salty layered taste. This is a milk cap drink I highly recommend.

A soft, snow-like milk foam covers the rich coffee. A coffee in the morning is perfect for perking you up. The coffee has a slight acidity that pairs nicely with the set.

Basil Seafood Egg Roll (with French toast $190 / French toast $190 / mini croissant $200 / bagel $210)
I personally love starting the day with a fried or sunny-side-up egg, so naturally, I couldn’t pass up seeing an egg roll today. Plus, combining seafood with an egg roll is pretty rare — such a hearty breakfast choice in the morning.

When it was served, the white plate highlighted the vibrant colors of the ingredients. The golden, crescent-shaped egg roll was very eye-catching, alongside a side of salad and seasonal fruit.

The egg was tender and blended well with the seafood flavors, though on its own the taste was a bit salty and heavy. But paired with the bread, it was just right.

The seafood filling inside the egg roll was really generous — every bite was packed with seafood, including a whole baby octopus and oysters, along with the aroma of basil leaves — absolutely delicious.

German-Mexican Sausage Egg Roll (with French toast $165)
Visually, the egg rolls all look similar, but the fillings are quite different. This one is served with French toast.

The tender egg mixture oozes out, and the sausages and toppings are very flavorful. Eating them together with the eggs, and adding a bit of ketchup makes it even better.

The filling is also incredibly generous. As soon as you cut into it, the stuffing spills out. The German sausages are chopped into small pieces that are just the right size to eat, while the bell peppers and onions add a touch of sweetness, creating a very layered texture.

The French toast is likely made by lightly dipping it in an egg-milk mixture before frying. The bread used is very soft, and upon asking, it turns out to be bread with a higher ratio of fresh milk. Sprinkling a bit of powdered sugar explains why it tastes so delicious.

The owner has carefully selected drink coasters that match the shop's name. “Double Happiness” isn’t enough—they’ve gone all the way to “Four V’s” (肆V), which probably reflects the high standards of the boss and the café as well.

The dining environment feels quite comfortable. There are no time restrictions for meals, no service charge, and free Wi-Fi is provided. If you’re not in a rush to go to work, you’d definitely want to enjoy a leisurely brunch here. The ingredients used in the dishes ordered are all of good quality, and the burgers and egg rolls are on par with the standard of typical Taipei brunch spots. Compared to brunch spots in Luzhou, which are just starting to become popular, this place is recommended for brunch lovers looking for more options.
