No need to worry about missing the bus anymore！Kaohsiung launches a direct bus route from “Aogu Liao to World Games Station”

Residents in the Aogu Liao area of Kaohsiung are in for a treat！To facilitate commuting and traveling for work or school between the Aogu Liao area and World Games MRT Station, the Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau has specially launched the Red 53D bus as a limited-stop direct route. The bus travels directly from Tongkang Road in Zihguan District along Zhongzheng Road, then turns onto Chijing Road, passes World Games MRT Station, and returns to the High-Speed Rail Zuoying Station. The service begins today.

Chen Chin-fu, Director of the Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau, said that the MRT feeder bus routes Red 53B and C mainly run between High-Speed Rail Zuoying Station and the Aogu Liao area in Zihguan Township. Due to the narrow roads on Chijing South Road and Guangming Road in Zihguan Township, local commuters often had difficulty catching the buses. Now that the road widening project is complete and in response to public demand, the bureau has converted some Red 53B buses into the new Red 53D limited-stop direct route.

The Red 53D bus travels directly from Tongkang Road in Zihguan District along Zhongzheng Road to Chijing Road and then returns to the High-Speed Rail Station. In addition, the stop name “Yufu Xiang” has been adjusted to “Yufu Xiang (Aogu Liao Fishing Port)” to better serve those wishing to visit the Aogu Liao Fishing Port — passengers can take the Red 53D bus to get there.

Additionally, starting March 1, the “Unlimited Rides for Two Time Periods in One Day” iPass bus promotion allows passengers to enjoy rides for up to NT$24 when using the iPass to take the bus in Kaohsiung. After the third ride of the day, all subsequent rides on regular city buses (excluding express buses, intercity buses, medical buses, and cultural-tourism buses) are free. Furthermore, those using the iPass on city buses also receive a 50% discount on transfers between MRT and buses, encouraging more people to use public transportation.
