Looking for delicious food in Tamsui for a group meal? Pingzi recommends Tamsui’s Big Footprint Multi-Cuisine Restaurant. In addition to classic Taiwanese-style Chinese stir-fries, the menu also features a variety of homestyle dishes such as Thai-Burmese cuisine, offering hearty and satisfying meals at affordable prices. If you’re visiting Tamsui and don’t know what to eat, come here—you won’t be disappointed by the Big Footprint Multi-Cuisine Restaurant.

The Big Footprint Multi-Cuisine Restaurant in Tamsui is located opposite the Farglory Hotel on Xuefu Road. It’s easy to find—just a 10-minute walk from Tamsui MRT Station. The entrance is unique, built with red bricks and tiles, resembling a courtyard-style restaurant. Parking is limited, but the restaurant has its own parking lot.

There’s also an outdoor seating area in front of the restaurant, shaded by old trees and featuring a fish pond—offering a charming atmosphere.

Next to the entrance, there are plenty of bike parking spaces—very considerate, perfect for users of YouBike.

Since we visited for dinner, it was already dark outside, and even though the sign is black, it remains highly visible.

Upon entering, you’ll find a very spacious open bar area with wide walkways, making it family-friendly for elders and children.

At the Big Footprint Multi-Cuisine Restaurant in Tamsui, the interior is spacious and ideal for family gatherings—especially great when dining with a big group.

The menu is diverse, with photos and descriptions to help you choose. You can carefully select dishes you like, and the clear layout makes pricing obvious, helping you keep track of your budget.

Steamed rice is NT$10 per serving, and there’s an all-you-can-eat rice option that’s more economical for groups. The rice grains are fluffy, not sticky—perfect for pairing with the flavorful stir-fried dishes.

Before the meal, it’s a good idea to order a drink. Plum juice comes in a large pitcher for NT$200, but unfortunately, it’s not refillable.

Stir-fried water spinach with shrimp paste—a basic Thai dish where water spinach is stir-fried with shrimp paste over high heat. It’s flavorful and a bit salty, making it a great side with rice.

Five-Spice Sausage and Intestine Hotpot—a very rice-friendly dish loaded with duck blood and intestines. The portion is generous. If the intestines were pre-braised before cooking, they’d be even more flavorful. A must-order for spice lovers.

Hakka Stir-Fried Pork—a signature dish of the Hakka people. The wok hei is just right, allowing the squid and celery flavors to meld beautifully. Delicious.

Three-Cup Flower Blossom—an iron-plate style dish that’s super rice-friendly and full of flavor. The blossom ingredient gets aroma from garlic, ginger, and basil, adding layered freshness. The portion is also quite generous.

Stir-fried Bitter Melon with Salted Egg—the key is to cook the bitter melon so it’s neither too dry nor too tough, and to blend it well with the salted egg. The chef here does a good job—the bitter melon isn’t overly bitter.

Spicy Stir-Fried Century Egg—made with dried chilies stir-fried quickly over high heat. The century egg absorbs the spiciness and sauce flavors. A great spicy dish for those who love heat.

Salted Pork—another Hakka specialty. Only the three-layer fat with some lean meat is used for the best taste. When eating, dip it in a specially prepared white vinegar and garlic sauce to bring out the umami.

For dessert, order fried silver thread rolls—they’re the perfect finish. The outside is golden and crispy, while the inside is soft like steamed buns. A must-try, though it would be even better with condensed milk. Still, it’s excellent.
In Tamsui, it’s rare to find a restaurant that does stir-fries so well. That’s why, when Pingzi first tried the Big Footprint Multi-Cuisine Restaurant, she was full of praise. Now, whenever she visits Tamsui for a group meal, she recommends this place. The Big Footprint Multi-Cuisine Restaurant is very popular, so it’s advised to make a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment and miss out on these delicious dishes.
