Affected by the possibility of Typhoon Nyssa hitting Taiwan, the Taitung County Government announced that the "2017 Taiwan International Hot Air Balloon Carnival" will be suspended for three days from the 28th to the afternoon of the 30th. The Chiben Hot Spring projection sculpture concert originally scheduled for the evening of the 29th has been postponed to August 2.
According to the Central Weather Bureau's forecast, due to the impact of Typhoon Nyssa, from 3 a.m. on the 28th, Beaufort winds have reached Category 3 winds (gusts of about 9 knots), which have exceeded the Civil Aviation Administration of China's hot air balloon operating specifications by more than seven knots, which is not conducive to ball display. To ensure the safety of passengers, the Taiwan International Hot Air Balloon Carnival has canceled all Luye Highland hot air balloon tethering experiences and modeling ball performances from the morning of the 28th to the afternoon of the 30th. It is expected to return to normal on July 31.
In addition, the projection mapping concert originally scheduled to be held at Zhiben on the 29th has been postponed to the evening of August 2 (Wednesday). The Welfare Bear Dance event originally scheduled for the afternoon of July 28 has been postponed until further notice.
